This wine-centric restaurant is only few months old but the crowd speaks volume of its popularity. Started by an online wine shop, SG Wine Cellar, they focus on Italian family-owned boutique wineries and food pairing to go alongside their wines. Not sure which to choose, no problem! Let their resident sommelier to decide for you. And if you are not a fan of wine, they have beer, cocktails and liquor as well. You probably wouldn’t have much expectations of their food but you would have left this place feeling pretty much satisfied. There is no lack of food options, from sides, starters to mains and monthly specials. It’s quite extensive and would leave you spoilt for choices

Pan Fried Smoked Scarmorza Cheese Wrapped in Parma Ham with Balsamic Marinated Cherry Tomatoes, Chives and Toast

I didn’t know what to expect when I ordered this. I just thought the description looks interesting enough aside from the usual Bruschetta and Salad

It turned out to be the best choice ever. The star was the smoked cheese wrapped with parma ham that was incredibly tasty. With a crunch of crispy toast and topped with fresh and sweet tomatoes, it was simply a winning combination

Seared Scallops $18

Pan Seared Hokkaido Scallops on Pomme Puree with Parma Bits & Konbu Butter

The scallops were well cooked with a nice charred texture. The mashed potato was smooth and silky with a nice buttery fragrance and finishing it off with the caviar to give it a slightly salty aftertaste

Pork Collar $33

Pan Roasted Iberico Pork Shoulder with Apple and Thyme Brandy Compote, Pomme Puree

The pork was remarkable. It was tender and flavourful and the sauce was amazing. Love the addition of the pomegranate for that extra crunch and flavour. The whole dish was incredibly balanced

It’s not every time you can find a place that wows you this much. But Wine & Chef does exceed my expectations. Not sure if I was particularly hungry that day or the food is really amazingly good. Either way, I think this place is worth dropping by for some good food and drinks
