When Long Ji closed their place at Tiong Bahru, we were sad that we couldn’t have their crab bee hoon and delicious zi char dishes anymore. But now since they have moved into a new place at Outram road, you can now pop on down to savour their famous wok hei crab bee hoon again! The new place at Outram road is more a restaurant kind of setting, think white tables, red chairs & air con. The friends said this feels like a Chinese New Year reunion dinner. lol. Prices may have increased just slightly as compared to their previous place but the food quality is still rest assured
Shrimp Paste Chicken $12
Feels like a must-order zi char dish. Fragrant prawn paste infused in the tender chicken meat, coated with a crisp brownish outer layer
Sambal Kang Kong $8
The kang kong unfortunately didn’t taste very sambal-ish. I think I will give this a miss the next time
Deep Fried Tofu with Cereal and Pumpkin Sauce $10
It’s not often you see pumpkin sauce in a tofu dish. I have to say the components all work out very well. It was a delicious dish
Panfried Coffee Pork Rib $12
The coffee ribs were really good! Tried the coffee ribs instead of their salted egg yolk ribs this time round and I would recommend this! The ribs were tender with a nice crisp texture, coated with a dark sweet coffee sauce
Long Ji Crab Bee Hoon Seasonal Price
And of course, their signature. Never to be missed. It was still as good as I remembered, infused with a wok hei taste. The sauce was flavourful, larded with pork lard and the bee hoon soaked up in all the goodness
I thought the menu has expanded and so are their portions. Turnaround time for weekends is limited to 1.5 hours. So don’t be late for your meal. We might have over ordered a little, but it was a very satisfying meal
