We checked out Loulouca, a dessert only cafe opened by former pastry chef of Odette. Located on Ann Siang Hill, you walked into an empty space when you pushed open the door, decorated by just a few plates of desserts on display

The tabes are located behind this door and you would soon be led inside

It’s a small place yet crowded on a weekday. We got there at 7pm and the place was soon filled up. I wonder if everyone was just eating desserts as dinner like us. lol
Since there were only 4 desserts, we got all 4 to try. They serve the desserts in pair so we started with Melon and Peach

Shizuoka Melon $32
Matcha Meringue Shell, Vanuatu Vanilla Mousse, Lime & Mint Jelly, Watercress & Mint Ice cream, Olive Oil, Lime Zest
I thought the dessert was well-made. You can taste how thin the crust was, followed by the sweetness of the vanilla mousse and balanced with a slight acidity of the olive oil and lime zest. It was refreshing and appetising

Yamanashi Peach $35
Yamanashi Peach, Blackberries, Yoghurt Sorbet, Earl Grey Chantilly & Rose Jelly
The peach was equally good. I liked the yoghurt sorbet and peach complemented each other really well

Tiramisu $28
Sobacha Ice cream combined with Coffee-Doused Biscuit Cuillere, Coffee Praline, Caramelised Pecans, Buckwheat Tulle
The tiramisu was their signature and I could appreciate why. This was really good. You can taste the nuttiness and different textures and layers of the dessert but yet not overpowering each other

Strawberry $30
Creme Fraiche, Lemon Curd, Sorrel & Yoghurt Sorbet, Strawberry Compote
Finishing off with a strawberry. The tart was really well-made. The crunch and the thinness of crust, alongside the sorrel and yoghurt sorbet was a play on layers. But I have to say Tiramisu was definitely the favourite

Pistachio Gelato
We finished off with a gelato on our way out, cos why not
Loulouca is an intimate dessert atelier, with desserts as its focus. Their entremets are well-thought, well-made and delicate. Though not exactly cheap for each piece, yet you can see the thought put into each one. Though I would definitely wish to see an expansion of the dessert menu
