Met a friend for lunch and I thought the menu at Cafe Mary Grace looks pretty interesting so we decided to check out the place, or more like I dragged the friend there. lol. Anyway this is a popular cafe chain from Philippines and we were welcomed with so much warmth by the staffs there. The place was also packed with lunch crowd pretty fast

It’s a very family-style cafe and you can find trail of their family photos and notes all around

Cassava Chips w Onion Dip $12

The chips appeared on almost every table. Chips on its own has no taste though it somewhat reminded me of papadam. But they go really nicely with the onion dip blended with sour cream and herbs. It was addictive without being too overpowering

Grilled Chicken Inasal $23.50

We were given the choice of garlic or rosemary for the rice. We asked which was recommended and they said both were nice. lol. We went with garlic in the end but we felt the garlic rice was missing some oopmph. We were jokingly saying we just need some fried garlic chips to top it off or maybe some sambal chilli. Grilled chicken itself was nicely done though as a whole, there was nothing wow about this

Crab Cake Brioche $27

Crab Meat, Tiger Prawn, White Wine Jelly, Gruyere & Emmental

Crab cake was really good. You can taste chunks of crab meat and tiger prawn in the patty and the brioche was nicely done. It was moist and buttery. Dip was quite interesting though. We definitely preferred the the brioche to the chicken rice

We had to save some stomach fro desserts and coffee

Ube Kopi Cloud $11

I got the ube kopi cloud which was pretty nice. You can taste the sweet potato foam at the top followed by coffee next that had a nice balance together

Singapore Sunrise $11

Blue Pea, Hazelnut Essence, Fresh Dalandan

The friend got this Singapore sunrise which tasted like orange juice, apparently. lol

Dark Chocolate Mousse $13.50

85% Varlhona Chocolate, Guanaja Creameux, Feuilletine Flakes

This was just sweet. I wouldn’t recommend it. I felt that it was too one-dimensional and missing some sponge

I thought the food at Mary Grace was quite decent. It’s not your usual brunch items and you get a variety of items as well. According to them, they have intention to open more branches in Singapore so hopefully there will be one near you soon
