Wanted to have dim sum at another place but they were full, so settled at Jade instead (which they were almost full as well). Considering I called 3 weeks in advance to book dim sum, I thought it was pretty crazy. It’s just weekend dim sum you know. We were seated at the courtyard area cos they were full inside which to me, was fine as well. The courtyard was pretty quiet but despite that, service staffs come around so often you don’t feel being left out. The weekend yum cha goes at $52 per pax (with min 2 to dine) and you can order up to 15 items on the menu which in my opinion, was really value for money
And so here are the 15 items we ordered. We went through the list of 43 items really carefully to pick our top 15 (like selecting candidates for beauty selection)
Teriyaki Unagi on Crispy Rice
From Must Try Jade Signatures, this was pretty meh to me. It was okay but I wouldn’t order it a second time
Abalone Siew Mai
It wasn’t outstanding but it was good siew mai. And cos siew mai is a must-order in every dim sum meal
Pan-Fried Beancurd Skin with Seafood (Back) Pan-Fried Chilli Crab Meat Bun (Front)
These 2 have my votes. Definitely a must-order. We love the crispy beancurd skin packed with a tight seafood filling and the really delicious crab meat bun which reminds of us of eating chilli crab with man tou
Fresh Prawn Dumplings
Decent Har Gao, and cos a must-order in every dim sum
Steamed Chicken Feet w Oyster Sauce
The parents really liked this steamed chicken feet cos the meat was so tender it came off easily
Wok-Fried Rice Flour Rolls in XO Sauce
This was strange in my opinion. I get they were trying to be different, but I probably wouldn’t order it a second time
Oven-Baked Egg Tart
The egg tart really took its time to make its way to our table but the egg custard was fantastic. So good it was worth the wait
Roasted Honey Glazed Iberico Pork
Hmm I thought this was not too bad but not very impressionable
Deep Fried Prawns Coated w Wasabi Mayo
What you eat at every wedding. Taste exactly the same
Braised Bird’s Nest w Truffled Egg White in Superior Broth
Oh, I really enjoyed the soup. You can taste the bird’s nest in it. It was a comforting and flavourful bowl of broth
Lobster Meat Porridge
This tasted like plain porridge without any lobster taste. Very. Disappointing
Wok-Fried Egg Noodles w Bean Sprouts in Soy Sauce
Not too bad. Ordered this cos the mum wanted to have it
Lastly, desserts. So glad I ordered both
Cream of Mango w Lime Jelly
The perfect bowl to end your meal. Thick, sweet and yummy
Pistachio Muah Chee
I can’t stop raving about this muah chee. The skin was so soft and the filling was fine and fragrant
I’m gonna order double portions of this the next time round
And the menu for those interested to know what the 43 items are
Just as the meal ended, the parents asked when are we coming back again? Right.. I guess that pretty sums up the entire meal. Personally, the quality is pretty outstanding and I find the price reasonable for the number of items you have. Definitely a place worth considering if you are looking for dim sum options and I can’t wait to go back to try the other dishes, just remember to book early
