We returned to Mad About Sucre to celebrate the friend’s 30th birthday and also to check out their new Summer menu. Like the previous seasons, there were a mix of old and new items and we picked some to try. Though this time round we didn’t manage to try all their cakes since we ordered a full birthday cake. Our stomach just couldn’t take it. ha
Whiskey Flambeed Tenderloin Cubes of Pasture-Raised Beef, Scratch-cooked Sauce of Beef Bones, French Pilaf-Blue Pea Flower Rice $45
I was deciding between the beef and the fish and decided to go with this one instead. I love everything on this plate. The hearty stew, the tender beef cubes and the fragrant blue pea flower rice. It was delicious and I couldn’t stop at each bite
Buttermilk Deep-Fried French Chicken Caviar $45
The friend went for the chicken after hearing they will be taking this item out of the menu. Flown in from France, this chicken was soaked in buttermilk before being deep-fried. There was little seasoning on the chicken so that we could enjoy it with the caviar. And the portion of the caviar was way too generous
Fresh Deep Sea Barramundi, Cured Pork Belly, Iranian Dates, Cream Sauce of Miso $42
The fish was enjoyable as well. Love the combination of the pork belly and the fish to give the balance of the flavours, the friend finished it all
Turvy $65 (Small)
Lemongrass, Apple, Light Caramel, Honey
We went with the safest choice among the new summer collection. Light lemongrass mousse on honey sponge cake with white chocolate feather, caramel cream and caramelised apple. I know we can count on the team for the perfect cake. And I’m glad the friends love it as well
