Located at the The Club hotel, Mr & Mrs Maxwell occupies the lobby of the hotel with an environment that is cozy and quiet to laze the day away. With a touch of oriental Chinese, you may have thought to be transported back to Old Shanghai with big leather sofa and high tables
Flat White $6
It’s off the menu but I thought I should ask just in case they really do serve flat white. The coffee was decent though not comparable to coffee speciality houses but those small cookies at the side were simply delightful to pop into
Beet-Cured Salmon served with Toasted Charcoal Bread $16
Lobster Omelette served on Sourdough Toasted with Gruyere Cheese $16
The taste of fresh herbs and pepper seeds seemed to overwhelm a little. The omelette was sweet and fluffy but I thought the lobster bits tasted a little too sour. The portion was pretty generous though
Ricotta Hotcakes with Vanilla Yoghurt and Fresh Berries $14
The pancakes were more cakey in texture and I thought it could be more fragrant. It was rather disappointing since it looks better than it taste
Even though the food was not fantastic but I thought the ambience and affordable pricing make up for it. If you are looking for a quiet place that serves all day brunch, then perhaps you can give it a try. But do go without much expectations
