Located near Amoy food centre, you can’t miss this cafe with a unique shop front. Retaining the exterior features of its preceding occupant, the owner decided to just revamp the interior to a cafe. Innovative or not, I’m sure it’s a good marketing strategy. Despite going on a (very) hot day, the interior was sheltered away from the heat.
Menu was basic but the lunch crowd was massive. I mean, it’s Amoy. We read about the service and the food prior to visiting so we were wary of what to order. Yet we were surprised that service was very good, and attentive. Maybe, they improved.
My Awesome Salad
Mesclun salad, Smoked Salmon, Herbs Chicken Breast, Duck Rillettes, Avocado & Tomato
Was feeling under the weather, so went for a simple salad. It turns out the salad wasn’t that simple with the greens and meats overflowing. Salad was decent, it was not like omg-it’s-so-fantastic. The heavy flavour of the meat provided a balance to the bland taste of the greens
Croissant + Scrambled Eggs + Ham & Cheese
Honestly, this plate looks sad. And $8.50 + $2 GST is certainly not worth it. Getting a BK breakfast will certainly be more filling and value for money
We skip the drinks, due to unfavorable reviews. I don’t like my coffee sour. I personally don’t favour this place, unless you really run out of places to eat in the area, which will be very strange if you tell me that. Since on the left is Amoy food centre, directly opp you have Ocean curry fish head, diagonally across you have Gaest and down the street you have a handful of sandwich shop. Just close your eyes and pick one. That’s the number of places to choose from for lunch in that area.
