I first had Flipper’s in Hong Kong and I was impressed. I know, it originated from Japan. Truth to be told, I never once had Flipper’s in Japan. I had no idea why. So I went down to give it a try when they opened their first outlet in Singapore and was greeted with a 20 minutes wait at like 4pm kinda timing. Located at basement one of Ngee Ann City, you wouldn’t miss the yellow neon sign that was facing Sephora
Cafe Latte
Ordered the latte and well, lets just say the hot yuzu tea was much better. In fact, I really liked the hot yuzu tea
Kiseki Pancake $16.80
Waiting time for the pancakes took about 20 mins and you could watch the staffs making them. They do quality checks as well. Those that did not meet the standards were off to the bin straight. These souffle pancakes are light, fluffy and meringue-like. Enjoying these pancakes without any toppings, you can actually taste how the original souffle pancakes are like. And the house-made whipped cream was like the icing on the cake
Fresh Fruits $21.80
Similar to the kiseki pancakes, but this option came with fresh strawberries, blueberries and banana
Egg Benedict $22.80
They only have one savoury pancake on their menu. I felt like with these egg benedicts, the limelight on the pancakes was taken away because when you dip the yolk, the savoury flavor outweighed the sweets
I thought the souffle pancake was good and I really enjoyed them though the waiting time might be less than ideal for some. But then again, people would go places and queue up for food. So if you are craving for some Japanese souffle pancakes, Flipper’s is worth a try
