Went back to Oshino again, this time for their sushi course. Their sushi edomae ($180) consists of 15 pieces nigiri sushi, maki, soup & dessert. Some things are a little different now like they have 2 seatings (probably due to the incredible reservation list); the earlier at 12 noon and the later at 1.30pm. Also, the fish was also sliced and prepared in advance (on a plate) so that the chef can serve the sushi faster

Chef Oshino was much more serious this time. I think he was probably keeping track of time and ensuring that the first seating could be done by 1.30pm

Ice cream to end the meal! Was a little sad we didn’t get fruits
I did enjoy the selection of fish that was served this time in particular, Iwashi, Japanese Barracuda, Nodoguro. Even though Nodoguro tastes excellent when slightly grilled but this aged piece was equally good. It was a very filling meal with 15 pieces and 2 mini don. We wanted to roll out of the door at the end of the meal. But the whole meal felt a little too rushed because firstly, there were so many pieces being served! It was rushed to a point it didn’t quite feel as enjoyable as the first visit. So glad it wasn’t omakase this time round. And for those wondering, yeah, you have to clear the place by 1.30pm even if you have the omakase. I felt like a good experience is important when you visit a sushi-ya, for both the chef and the diner and if it happens to be your first visit, I think it would be quite disappointing. But the food at Oshino is good. Just don’t expect too linger too long
