Took a friend to try Fook Kin cos he is a fan of char siew. This place located at Killiney road is a collaboration between Class 95 DJs The Muttons and Roast Paradise. Despite being the location being located a walkable distance away from the MRT, the joint is crowded when we visited for lunch. But thankfully the place accepts reservation, so we were able to score a table without much hassle
Love the bright and loud decor of Fook Kin. It has a nostalgic feel to it with the old school songs playing in the background
Caramelised Char Siew $6.80 (small)
Of cos we have to give the famed caramelised roast char siew a try. It’s really mind-blowing good and I’m not even kidding. I’m usually not a fan of roast meat to be honest, but this char siew was really another level
They have the right balance of burnt and caramelised glaze to it with the meat being soft and tender, glistening in fats. But I could only eat 3 of slices of it, cos it was too much to handle
Fluffy Omelette with Chye Poh $8.80
The omelette caught our eye. And it was fluffy indeed. Love how they give you the options to add the toppings as the way you like it and we went for the traditional chye poh
Roast Paradise with Noodles $10.80
I really enjoyed the duck, as much as I did with the char siew. But to be fair, I thought all the roast selection was pretty decent. The meat all shined in their own way. And I love how they use sambal chilli and throw in the twist with the lava egg
It’s a place worth trying if you haven’t check this place out. And go with a bigger group so you can try all the other dishes as well. But I thought for a quick lunch, it was a pretty satisfying meal
