Luke’s Oyster Bar & Chop House – For Fresh Seafood and Celebrations

So the friend decided to surprise me with dinner and refused to tell me where we are going. We ended up at Luke’s Oyster Bar & Chop House which I have heard of many good reviews. The place looks posh, with leather chairs, high ceiling in an intimate setting. Definitely a good place for date nights and celebrations though I kid you not, the whole row was celebrating birthday that day we visited

The complimentary starter of mini corn bread with homemade butter. It was delicious. Love the warm melt-in-the-mouth cake-like texture that tasted as good on its own

Half Dozen (Today’s Selection) $48

Can’t remember what we chose that day but it was a variation of sweet and creamy oysters that were fresh and succulent to taste. Though I concluded I preferred creamy oysters at the end of the night

Tuna Tartare with Avocado & Toasted Ciabatto $27

Was in a shock when this came cos we hadn’t expect the portion to be so big. But we finished it all cos it was really good. I like the mix of the tuna tartare that was refreshing, sweet and appetising

French Fries $14

I never say no to fries. It was meant as a side to go along with our steak, though the portion was surprisingly big as well. As expected, we didn’t finish it

Our choice of Surf & Turf for our mains and they had kindly split it for us

USDA Prime Rib Eye $99

I find the beef a little too chewy though the texture was okay for the friend

Luke’s Lobster Pot Pie with Spring Vegetables, Truffle Oil, Tarragon & Puff Pastry $115

We really like the pot pie from the puff pastry to the truffle-infused cream. And the freshness of the lobster to top it all. Would probably order this again

And a Double Fudge Chocolate Brownie to end the night

I’m glad my ‘surprise’ came out first cos subsequently the whole row took turns celebrating it became not so surprising anymore. HA

If you are a fan of seafood and oysters, you can give this place a try. And given its location in the CBD area, it is probably a good place to unwind after a day’s work as well
