Known for the spot for serving different kinds of craft beer, this cafe at Craig road also serves up brunch and other food items. Well, I didn’t try any of their beer but there are plenty of food options to choose from. The crowd was pretty light but it feels like the wait time can be a little long during peak hours
Flat White $5
A blend of Colombian and Brazilian beans, their coffee is on the light side, so much that I thought I was drinking milk. I guess there is a reason for positioning themselves as a beer-brunch cafe
Salmon Rosti $22
Salmon Fillet, Dill Creme Fraiche, Salmon Roe
This rosti had its hits and misses. The texture of the rosti was there. I enjoyed the crispiness but the rosti gets too bland towards the end. It felt like the seasoning wasn’t done right. The dill creme felt strange. It didn’t really complement the rosti and it was just too watery for my liking
The Hustler Burger $18
Dry Age Beef Patty, Mini Hash, Bacon, Fried Egg
The seasoning of the rosti here was slightly better. I enjoyed the grilled taste of the buns and the flavour of the beef patty but I thought the patty was a little too firm
Buttermilk Chicken Burger $18
Crispy Fried Chicken, Apple Raisin Slaw, Cheddar & Fries
The fried chicken was delicious but I thought it would taste even better with melted cheese. Complementing it with a slice of unmelted cheese felt strange. It just didn’t go together somehow. And the fries were a little overfried
It felt like for every dish you thought it tasted good, there will definitely be something in there to bring the dish down somehow, which is a pity. I guess with more fine-tuning and consistency, there would be more standout with the food. The presence of a cafe in this area is welcomed, especially when you can have somewhere to chill after yoga on the weekends
