This new cafe is one you cannot miss when you walk through Millenia Walk. Located right in the middle, The Dark Gallery specialises in, you-guess-right, dark chocolate. The cafe serves a range of chocolate delights from drinks to desserts and it makes a good place to chill in the afternoon or grab a cup of chocolate drink after lunch but do note seats may be limited
Signature Chocolate $7
From a blend of 66% Valrhona dark chocolate, The Dark Gallery’s signature chocolate is rich, creamy and smooth. It’s definitely a good cup of hot chocolate that can warm you up and give you loads of sugar rush or cheer you up from a bad day
Signature Toasted Smores $5
Well it’s basically just toasted marshmallow. I’m quite amused to find marshmallow as one of its offerings, cos honestly how often would one go to a cafe just to have marshmallow. And cos it’s strange to have just marshmallow by itself, I broke the white mushy cushion into small bites and mix them with the hot chocolate to drink together, which was a good combination
The Chocolate Rhapsody $18
Signature dark, white and milk chocolate icecream on chocolate soil, chocolate meringue tuile and mousse
I thought the milk chocolate icecream had a nice chocolatey richness to it as compared to the other two. The dark chocolate was simply too bitter and the white chocolate was nothing to rave about
Well, I thought The Dark Gallery could do some decent hot chocolate but I was less impressed with the food and the icecream. They do serve coffee with beans from Common Man Coffee Roasters as well. Even though we know CMCR cannot go wrong, the friend simply find the coffee lacking, which is strange. I’m not sure if it’s beans or the barista. I would probably visit their next door neighbour which could do better drinks and desserts. I think The Dark Gallery has some catching up to do
