Dinette is a pop-up cafe conceptualised by Michelle & Sarah of L’Eclair, featuring mini eclairs that are handmade with love. We were fortunate to score a reservation at Three Years in a Balloon, where they were hosting this pop-up event from 8-30 November every weekend for a tea-time set menu for 2 at $50 nett. The cafe also sells waffles, cakes and cupcakes so for those of you who have a sweet tooth, you can pop by for a visit on the other operating days.
The place is further down from the famous Kay Lee Roast Meat Joint
The benefit of being early is that we can spend more time taking photos of the food and not look silly. But I realised everyone is doing the same thing. haha #instagrammadness and then when the meal ended, we realised we were sitting among famous instagrammers =X
Eclairs ready to meet the guests!
Flat White
The coffee was a little bitter and a little tiny, as compared to the tea that comes in a gigantic cup
The tea set!
Peking Duck Mini Sandwich, Chicken & Bacon Basque Pie & Smoked Salmon Cracker
The most impressive gotta be the chicken and bacon basque pie. The filling was abundant and the pie was buttery and crispy. It was very delicious. The peking duck sandwich was innovative and the smoked salmon cracker was normal
Mini Eclairs by L’Eclair & Macarons by ShibertyBakes
My favourite gotta be the Hazelnut Praline, Vanilla Bean & Caramelised Pecans and Lemon Meringue. The macarons were kinda hits and misses with the shell being too hard. The red velvet macaron was pretty good though. For those who missed being on their reservation list, you can still buy the pretty eclairs for takeaway 🙂
