Popular Korean restaurant opened a second concept nearby at Stanley street serving tofu stew and buckwheat noodles so the friend and I went down to try one day for lunch. The restaurant only opens at 11.30am but when I reached at 11.20am there were already 14 groups infront of me. Gasp. You had to take a queue number via QR code and the restaurant wasn’t exactly big so if you missed the first seating, then you just need to wait for the next

They came out with this barley rice banchan and we got a shock. We definitely did not expect this for a banchan. So while waiting for the rest of our food to arrive, we wrapped the rice with vegetables and seaweed to eat. I had to say it tasted really good

But I would advise to keep some rice for the sundubu jjigae if you had placed an order for it

And the banchan that was refillable. We really liked their kimchi

Bindae-Tteok
This bindae-tteok was really well done. It tasted so crisp yet packed with flavour inside and it was cooked thoroughly there was so much texture when you bite into it

Soon Memil Deul-gireum Guksu $21
Buckwheat noodles with Perilla Oil
We decided to give the buckwheat noodles a try too. The texture of the noodles were good but I didn’t quite like that single piece of meat

Sundubu-Jjigae Set $15
It wasn’t the kind of sundubu-jjigae I was expecting. This tofu stew was so thick it tasted like curry and I wasn’t used to the texture so I didn’t quite like it. Though it did get a little better after the soup has simmered a little and when you paired it with the barley rice to eat. But I still very much prefer the usual kind of sundubu-jjigae
To be honest, I thought the best was the barley rice banchan and bindae tteok. I guessed trying this once was good enough. Or you could give their BBQ dinner a try the next time
