Met a friend for lunch and I decided on Pulsii French Bistro in the end cos she ran out of ideas to visit. Serving Japanese-French cuisine, the bistro was quite quiet for a weekday. They serve both ala carte and set lunch from Monday to Saturday so you can give both menu a try

The set lunch is priced at $35 and consist of an appetiser and mains. You can top up $10 for dessert and coffee/tea to make it a 3-course meal

We had both the salad and soup of the day for the appetiser

The mushroom soup tasted different from what you would expect. It’s not as thick but yet creamy enough and had fragrance of the mushroom. It’s rather decent

Complimentary bread which was pretty forgettable

Brandade Croquettes $4/pc
We got the croquettes to try on their recommendation but thought it was rather underwhelming. I suggest you give this a miss

Truffle Souffle Omelette w Beef Stew $16
The omelette was good. Fluffy omelette that was light and soft with a savoury beef stew within. It was hard to stop at one bite

Woodfire Grilled Sawara Fish
Truffle Celeriac “Tagliatelle”, Grilled Vegetables, White Wine Sauce
Fish was grilled well though I wasn’t exactly a fan of the celeriac. It was too strong for my liking

Australian Wagyu Skirt Steak 200g +$15
Potato, Gratin, Grilled Vegetables, Red Wine Sauce
The friend got the beef skirt which was pretty tender. It was a pretty hearty dish of protein
I thought the portion here is pretty generous. Food-wise, it was okay but not wow. It would be a place I don’t mind returning if I’m in the area but not exactly the first place that would come to mind. It didn’t really leave a forgettable impression on me. Else for a 2-course lunch menu, I thought it was quite decently priced
