Had an opportunity to check out Moment Restaurant at Amoy street for one of our dinners and when we saw the menu online, truth to be told, we were more interested in the sake menu than the food menu. And to our luck when we were there, they were running a sake promotion at $80++ when you can had your fill of sake in 2 hours. So we went for it

I have no idea till when they running this promotion till

The restaurant wasn’t big. It’s definitely catered for small group than big groups as you could tell from the seating space. Nevertheless we got the one and only big table space

Shokupan $15
Homemade Shin Koji Japanese Bread, Nori Kombu Butter, Garlic Herb Butter
Crisp on the outside, the bread was hot as you tear it apart. I thought it tasted good on its own but even better with the kombu butter

Gambas A Ajilo $20
Tiger Prawn, Garlic, Red Pepper Flakes, Espelette, Garlic Aioli, Furikake
The prawns were delicious. Succulent and sweet and I thought the broth was a nice touch

Ala Plancha Octopus $48
Canosa Octopus Leg, Chorizo Sauce, Prosciutto Chips, Torn Burratina, Basil Oil
The octupus were also worth considering. Love the doneness on the octopus, I thought it went really well with the sauce and burrata cheese

Iberico Pork Jowl $24
Slow cooked Iberico Pork Jowl, Black Garlic Balsamic Glaze
The pork jowl was cooked well. It was tender as you chew on it. Though I felt it would have been even better it was a little more fragrant

Truffle Fries $20
Fries were overcooked. They wrote it off the bill

Garlic Mushrooms $16

Grilled Asparagus $13
I thought both the mushrooms and asparagus as sides were good accompaniment as they had their own character and were executed well

Truffle Scallop Capellini $28
Truffle Kombu Dressing, Capellini, Wild Caught Scallops, Amaebi, Ikura, Tobiko, Shredded Nori
This was decent. I wouldn’t call it wow. But it was a rather decent cold appetiser

2GR Wagyu Ichibo $58
GR Full Blood Wagyu Ichibo MB9+, Yagachi Island Salt, Confit Garlic
Beef was cooked very well. Though it seemed a little red in here, but execution and flavour was on point

Duck Magret $34
Pan-Seared French Duck Magret, Peppercorn Seasoning, Wild Berries Compote, Celeriac Puree
The duck on the other hand was really disappointing. I could tell by slicing it. It was tough to cut. And the taste followed through cos I couldn’t chew on it properly. I told the staff the duck was a little under and she said the dish is like this. I think there is a fine line between staffs knowing the dishes and customers knowing what they eating. And if you know me, I know my food. But I didn’t wanna argue with them, so I left the duck untouched
Sad to say, the duck was a disappointing end to the meal

Nama Chocolate $8
70% Valrhona Dark Chocolate, Chantilly Cream, Awayuki Salt
They don’t have much options on the dessert menu. I just needed something sweet to wash off the sake and to end the meal. Well, they really tasted like Nama chocolates. lol
I would think the quality of the food here is above average and it made a good place if you just need a place to unwind. And judging from the size, it’s definitely more catered for pairs / single diner. Though I probably won’t recommend ordering the duck again π
