Summer Hill – Hidden French Bistro at Claymore Connect

The friend wanted to try Summer Hill, so we made our way there for dinner. Located at Claymore Connect, the mall looked quite deserted. I wouldn’t expect to find a French bistro in there so it was quite an interesting find. The restaurant was half full for a weekday night and it was filled with festive mood with the Christmas tree and lights up in the middle. Definitely puts one in a jovial mood

French Fried Chicken Winglets $9

Herb, Lemon & Honey Butter

We were famished. So when the winglets came, there was a moment of silence. It was really winglets. Lol. That aside, the chicken was quite well done though we definitely preferred a bigger piece!

First bite? Wow, the sauce was good. It’s flavourful and the beef was so tender. Love the texture of the pasta too. The friend went – you can tell this is handmade pasta. I would order this again

Bacon & Mushroom Fettuccine Alfredo $18 (appetiser)

Cream, Butter with Smokey Bacon, Mushrooms & Parsley

Initially wanted to order the seafood pot pie and they told us they sold out for the day. We were shocked cos it’s not even Christmas and the pot pie was a festive menu and we really wanted to try it. So we took a long time to deliberate the replacement and decided to go with the Fettuccine in the end

I call this angmoh meepok. lol. But this meepok was every bit delicious. And we were surprised by how filling the portion was. This could definitely be a main than appetiser

The staff came around to ask how was everything and I mentioned we were sad the pot pie was sold out. Guessed what he said? He told us the pot pie wasn’t good. And the friend was like ?! Was that meant as a joke? lol

We spied the next table next to us wiped this sundae clean and the friends said we cannot lose to them! lol. I had no idea what we were competing about. I can’t taste much of the stout but the friend said she could taste it in the cake. To me, it was just a sundae

Pistachio Crème Brulée $12

Dukkah, Bandung Chantilly

The pistachio creme brûlée was more of an acquired taste. And well, I didn’t acquire the taste. lol

I thought the food here was good and I would definitely love to try more on my return. Even though we were still pretty hung up over the pot pie. lol. It’s not a mall I would actually walk into unless I’m there for something but Summer Hill felt like your next door restaurant serving simple, casual French cuisine
