Never really heard about Lavo until the friends mentioned about it so we went there for dinner one day. High up on level 57 and overlooking the Marina Bay waterfront, the Italian-American restaurant is also a bar and a nightclub and occupies a large space on the rooftop. The restaurant was quite crowded on a weekday night with a large mix of tourists and many were just enjoying the view of the evening skyline.
Burrata $31
Heirloom Tomato, Red Onions, Pesto
Starting off with a plate of burrata, I thought the tomatoes were really good. And the burrata was.. okay, though not very impressionable
T-Bone Steak $165
The friends really like meat. So much that they ordered a large T-bone steak for sharing. To be honest, I wasn’t in the best condition that day so perhaps the food wasn’t exactly to my palate. The meat was cooked well but it was too oily for my liking. And I felt like the sauces didn’t really complement the steak either
Iberico Pork Chop $49
The pork chop was rather oily. Other than that, it wasn’t exactly memorable
Brussel Sprouts $16
Pancetta, Shallots, Parmigiano
French Fries $16
Truffle Oil, Black Pepper, Romano Cheese
Sautéed Spinach $16
Onions, Butter, Parmigiano
20 Layer Chocolate Cake $24
Chocolate Devil’s Food Cake, Peanut Butter Mascarpone
We were thoroughly surprised with the 20-layer chocolate cake. It was so rich with the peanut butter and chocolate that you can’t possibly finish it alone. And I’m glad the service staff told us to stick with one dessert
Overall, I felt like the food was heavier on flavor but perhaps it was also not to my liking. Though the ambience and service of the staffs did make up for it. I might give it another try though it’s not exactly on my priority list right now. But if I do, I would order nothing on this list I have tried that day
The place is really pretty though. It’s definitely worth it to take some photos here
And one can just always enjoy the view of the Marina Bay at night
