423. Flutes @ National Museum Singapore

Flutes used to be at Fort Canning Park but has since moved to National Museum of Singapore. Even so, the place is still elegant and pretty. We witnessed a wedding ceremony that was happening right outside the restaurant. And since it happened to be on a Sunday, we went for brunch for the friend’s birthday celebration and I managed to sneak in a birthday dessert surprise for her. heh

Brunch came in 3 course set menu with an option to order the bread basket for additional $10

Warm bread with 3 choices of spread: Hummus, Avocado & Walnut Cream Cheese

The walnut cream cheese was really good

Starter: Caesar Salad w Smoked Chicken Breast

A beautiful salad of smoked chicken breast w generous portion of cheese shaving

I have to admit I was semi full after this. lol

Starter: Cream of Mushroom Soup

The friend loved it

Mains: Weekend Cheese Burger

The portion was huge and I was thankful I didn’t choose this. The fries were awesome and the patty was cooked well

Mains: French Toast w Mixed Berries, Maple Syrup & Cinnamon Dust

The french toast were dry and disappointing. I will not recommend

Birthday dessert platter which we chose Meringue Basket & Queen’s Chocolate Perfection Pie

Overall, it’s a beautiful place that serves decent food that comes in generous portion. We went for the free flow white wine which was equally delightful. I think it’s probably one place to consider if you have a special occasion to celebrate.
