404. Pasta Brava

I rarely do Italian for dinner cos I can’t take heavy carbo all by myself. So this is one in a million post. haha we specially went to Pasta Brava for their squid ink spaghetti which I heard was pretty good. I’m surprised the place was pretty big and it was almost full house that night considering it houses 2 levels. I wouldn’t say the ambience was very homely but it’s definitely a good place to catch up with friends and enjoy the night away.

Complimentary Bread

Bread was cold and disappointing. It was only good cos the friends were hungry so they just finished the whole thing

Portobello Mushrooms Sauteed w Olive Oil, Garlic & Parsley

I thought it would come as a whole mushroom. The sliced version was a surprise but it definitely provided more convenience as we could save the trouble of cutting it

Prosciutto Served w Rockmelon

I don’t like parma on its own cos I find it too salty but the combination with the rock melon helps overcome the saltiness of the ham and balanced by the sweetness of the fruit itself

Spaghetti w Seafood in Squid Ink Sauce

This was really good. The squid ink didn’t have a very strong taste to it. Even the friend who don’t take squid ink pasta caved in

Risotto w Porcini Mushrooms, White Wine & Parmesan Cheese

The flavor was really distinctive. You can taste the wine and the cheese, so beautifully mixed. I just thought the rice could be softer

Lasagna

Can’t remember when was the last time I had lasagna. Everyone loves this. The tomato sauce, minced beef and mozzarella cheese had us craving for more

Pan-fried Breaded Slices of Veal topped with Parmesan and Mozzarella

Somehow, it tasted like fried pork cutlet. I don’t know if this is a good or bad thing. That being said, I thought it was a pretty normal dish

Chocolate Lava Cake w Vanilla Icecream

The lava cake was awesome. Crispy on the outside, and warm chocolate oozing out when you slice it through. Pair it together with the vanilla icecream and viola!

Apple Pie w Mascarpone Cheese, Served w Vanilla Icecream

The apple pie was a pleasant surprise. It wasn’t really like a pie, but more like a cake which was very nice. The apple taste was evident and the texture of the cake was smooth and sticky

I thought the food here was pretty awesome. I wouldn’t say they have strong starters, but their pasta was totally rocking it and the desserts ended the meal on a sweet note. A place to consider if you are craving for some good Italian food.
