401. Bedrock Bar & Grill

Tucked in a little corner, the place is always packed whenever I walked past. The restaurant has 2 dinner seatings, one at 6.30pm and the other at 8.30pm. We went for the later one. Though we were early, we had to wait 25 minutes before they could finally sit us. So much for reservations

The place felt like a little tavern. Small, compact and loud, Service was good though. They make you feel like even if you have not eaten a steak in your life, you don’t have to worry about it.

Original & Nectar D’Or

Couldn’t resist their 1 for 1 whiskey. The whiskey was good. I especially like the Nectar D’Or. A taste of toasted almonds with honeycomb. Sweet, warm and tingly.

Complimentary Bread with Garlic & Butter

An interesting choice of nann-like bread that goes really well with garlic and butter. I didn’t finish it, cos the friend conned me into giving him mine. Tsk.

French Onion Soup

The soup was just delicious, from the outer layer of the melted cheese to the inner layer of caramelized onions. A simple starter with such strong flavor.

Truffle Mash Potatoes

I think they are very smart to have truffle mash potatoes instead of truffle fries. The bland taste of the smooth and creamy mashed potatoes along with the strong tuffle oil proves to be the perfect combination.

Sauteed Mushrooms

Well, it’s mushrooms. I’m very surprised by the generous servings of their sides. It felt more like a starter for sharing. I’m even more appalled, or rather amazed by the 3 guys infront of us that each had 2 starters and 3 sides to their own (not forgetting they had a steak and dessert each)

Ribeye (400g) w Classic Bearnaise

The friend had the bigger portion, the ribeye

Tenderloin (240g) w Red Wine Sauce

And I had my tenderloin, which I loveee it. Everyone’s first reaction was to slice a piece of the meat and inspect the pinkness in it.

Just perfect. The steak was so good, well it better be, considering it’s $100 for one steak. Haha We chose different sauces to go with the meat, but eventually we still prefer eating the steak as it was.

Creme Fraiche Panna Cotta

Orange & Spice Poached Apricot, Pistachio Biscotinni

Even though I was already full, I have to had desserts #sotypicalme and I chose the smallest one, only to be presented with a rather big portion. The apricot was pretty sour in my opinion and I didn’t fancy that but it goes quite well with the panna cotta. I like the biscottini. A very thin, delicate layer of pistachio goodness. So yummy

This place serves some wicked food, definitely a good place to consider.
