213. Tiong Bahru Bakery

So I came down sick. Spent the whole of today sleeping (which I really needed) and feeling much better now though I’m wondering how am I going to survive working tomorrow since all my meds cause drowsiness. WELL DONE. Anyways back to topic, met up w A over a random dinner date and the girl decided on Tiong Bahru Bakery at raffles city. I’m glad they opened an outlet in town so we don’t have to go all the way to Tiong Bahru estate for their delicious croissants.

Located at the basement of Raffles City shopping centre, just opposite Watami Japanese Casual Dining. You must be wondering if eating bread is filling enough for dinner. Well, hell yes.

Strange pencil looking furniture

Black (squid ink) curry, paired with their famous croissant

Fairly strange, pleasantly surprising. The 2 of us decided to be adventurous and go for their black seafood curry. It was really not bad you know. haha maybe next time I can go for their red or yellow curry.

Loveee their croissant. It is SO awesome. I can simply just eat that for the whole meal. And so I decided to buy a few home, but sadly it’s so much better when’s its fresh and piping hot from the oven =x

Squid Ink Bun

The much raved about Squid Ink Bun. It is.. okay, tastes like normal bun in my opinion. Nothing too fantastic

Kouign Amann

Basically, it’s lots of butter and a full glaze of caramel on top. So yes, it’s very sweet. Good treat for the sweet tooth!

Lemon Tart

I really like this. Even though the first mouth was really sour (gosh) but it gets better with each bite. The tart pairs with it very well too.
