Hideaway – Private Oasis by Naeum for Special Occasions & Events

Attend a friend’s ROM held at Hideaway, located above Naeum. Hideaway is the private dining area, where one can book for events and it was my first time there! The ROM was supposed to start at 11.15am but the bride and groom was late. lol

They have their own dedicated kitchen and mainly supported by 2 chefs

Most of the menu here will be probably be something you have eaten at Naeum or something similar

Snacks – Jorim, Buchimgae, Ganghwae

Snacks to start! I really like the wagyu beef slices. I thought the flavours were really well balanced, ending with the crunch in the tart. You can taste the aged kimchi with the second snack, finishing off with something refreshing at last

Yangjanpi

Shima Aji, Mustard Vinaigrette

Memilmyeon

Abalone, White Kimchi

The buckwheat noodles was my favourite. Sweet, savoury, citrusy all in one. It was a mouth pack of flavours and punch

Kinmedai

Doenjang, Daikon

Fish was well–cooked, paired with a savoury doenjang sauce

Sootbul Gui

Wagyu Striploin, Asparagus

The beef was a slight fatty for my liking though well-cooked, complemented with a garden of fresh vegetables so you get a good balance overall

Hansang

Yellow Croaker, Banchan

Personally, the banchan really shone. The rice packed a punch of flavour and the fish, though a little salty actually went well with the rice. But as you dig into a spoonful of rice then a taste of the banchan, the flavours really harmonise with each other

Yuzu Longan

Goji Berry, Ginger Cream

This was really sour. The yuzu sorbet will wake you up

And a little extra from the chef to congratulate the couple. A really pretty and elegant dessert with a vivid taste of truffle, white chocolate ice cream and rice crisp tuille, the dessert was an impactful end to the meal

Dagwa

Gwapyeon, Gangjung, Jeongpyeon

And ending with petite 4! Everyone loved the makgeolli fermented rice cake. I thought the rice crisp with chocolate was quite nice too and the winter melon kombucha was quite a light yet refreshing drink to pair it all nicely

I’ve tried a few of Naeum’s menu, to a point where I felt it was at a standstill. But yet this specially curated menu brought back memories why the food at Naeum was worth a visit and I was glad I had a good time overall
