Fortuna Terraza – Italian Cafe Inspired by the Amalfi Coast

Haven’t had brunch for awhile so we decided to check out Fortuna Terrazza at Craig Road. The cafe is inspired by the beauty of Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Well, I have never been there before but the cafe does look bright and vibrant as you stepped inside

Complete with decor of lemons

It’s actually quite crowded so probably get a reservation if you are thinking of heading down

Flat White

The friend really likes the coffee there

Lychee Beliini $14

Lychee Syrup, Freeze Dried Lychee

While I thought the Lychee Bellini was interesting. At some point, it tasted like beer to me. lol

Also, their take on local chilli to go with your food if you need. I have to say this chilli was damn addictive. It wasn’t spicy, well, at least to us but somehow it just goes with the food. We finished nearly half the bottle of it. The friend couldn’t believe it. lol

Prawn Pizzetta $26

Prawn Salad, Shredded Lettuce, Pink Mayo, Trout Roe, Lemon Zest, Prawn Chips, Chives, Lemon

I actually quite enjoyed this but the friends didn’t like the dough. It was crisp, but can be a little too chewy. Like you do really need to chew for abit. But I thought the texture was well-made and it went well with the sauce and prawns. The whole thing did actually came pretty well together

Aglio & Olio Benedict $24

Aglio e Olio Potato Rosti, 2 Poached Eggs, Wilted Greens, Hollandaise, Chives

I’m not sure if I tasted the aglio e olio in the rosti but I enjoyed the crunch on the rosti. I thought it was one of the better rosti around and I loved how you could savour the whole thing with the runny yolk, greens and the hollandaise sauce. It was delicious

Daily Pastries

Lemon Meringue Tart

I had to only pick one cos the friends were too full so we went with the lemon meringue tart as recommended. I had to say this was one of my favourite meringue tarts I’ve tasted. The meringue was so light, fluffy and just the right sweetness yet complemented perfectly with the lemon curd with a touch of tartness. It was perfectly balanced

I was so tempted to order another main and dessert but the friends emphasised don’t order too much so I guess I just have to return again to try the other items on the menu. I do recommend this place if you want something different for brunch or just not the usual brunch items. It’s a little fusion, different yet enough to make an impression
