Torno Subito – Casual Fine Dining Italian at Dempsey Serving Decent Pasta

The friend wanted to have Italian for her birthday so we went to Torno Subito at Dempsey. It was a pretty quiet afternoon for a weekend lunch and there weren’t many people around so we could really enjoy the meal leisurely

The interior was pretty fun and colourful, giving all sorts of beach vibes

Complimentary bread basket which was so good

Tiger & Beer $33

Deep-fried Tiger Prawns, “Nazionale” Beer Mayonnaise

I thought the prawns were succulent and deep fried nicely, though there wasn’t much beer taste in my opinion

Can’t remember what this was exactly but the fried fish was actually pretty tasty as well

Fichi $38

“Latteria Sorrentina” Fior di Latte cheese, Culatello ham, Marinated Fig, Pecorino Foam

In our opinion, this was a little weird. We preferred the other pizza

Pizza of The Day

This was definitely the more popular option though I’m not exactly a pizza person

Tagliatella $48

Traditional Egg Pasta with Massimo’s Favourite Hand-Chopped Wagyu Ragù

The tagliatelle was really good. The texture of the pasta and the cook on it was amazing, and the friends all agreed as well

Tortellino $48

Modenese Miniature Stuffed Pasta, Creamy 36 months Aged, Parmigiano Reggiano Sauce

If you like something a little cheesy, you can give this a try. Each piece of stuffed pasta was coated evenly with the parmigiano reggiano sauce, making it savoury yet delectable

I love Pepper Crab $88

Fresh Housemade Chitarra Pasta, Sarawak Pepper Reduction, Alaskan King Crab, Chives, Lime

I actually really enjoyed this. It was a take on local black pepper crab, crossing with Italian flavours. The friends find it a little strong but I thought it was quite interesting. And the pasta itself was really good

Porchetta (serves 2) $98

Roasted Milk-fed Suckling Pig, Peach Compote, Swiss Chard

The suckling pig was enjoyable with the skin crisp, drizzled with their house-made sauce. The friends find it a little porky for their liking but I thought the protein was done quite well

Pesce Del Giorno $68

Fish of the Day, Market Vegetables

I thought the fish was done beautifully, with a touch of local flavours as well. It kind of reminded me of dining at a wedding banquet with the local greens and sauce that accompanied it

Merluzzo Alla Ligure

Seared Cod, Black Olive Tapenade, Green Olive Sauce, Rosemary Crumble

We added on the cod, ala carte cos the friend wanted to try it. I have to say, it’s nothing worth trying. lol

Modena Ribs $68

Slow-cooked Wagyu Beef Ribs, Seasonal Vegetable Sauce, Villa Manodori Dark Cherry Vinegar

It’s a very colourful plate, like art. The beef was well cooked and you could taste the savouriness of it

The dessert and petite 4 was a surprise. We didn’t expect so much desserts to end the meal and we were completely full by then

I thought the food here was pretty decent overall and they serve really good pasta. It’s definitely worth checking out if you are looking for date nights or just simply want to have a good time
