Cudo – Serving Casual Modern Latin American at Stanley Street

Cudo at Stanley serves a different kind of cuisine. Inspired by the comfort food that carries the soul of Latin American, you find a diverse menu at Cudo with a modern touch. This place is pretty new, since it is only around for 3+months but given how full it was on a Friday evening, I think it has won their own share of customers

Warm Crab Queso $18

Lumb Crab, Molten Scarmoza, Sakura Ebi, Fried Tortillas

We started with a warm crab queso as appetiser. Served with a side of tortillas, the melted cheese actually went quite well with the fried tortillas. I liked the flavours and the texture of the sakura ebi that added texture and layers though you might not necessarily taste the sweetness of the crab but generally it’s quite a light appetiser to start

Stuffed Squid, Chorizo

We went with something off the menu which was a stuffed squid dish stuffed with chorizo. It’s quite a flavourful dish though might be a little on the salty side. But the squid was pretty well cooked and the friends seemed to like this alot

Yuca Fries $8

Crispy Yuca, Salsa Rosada

A very thick slab of fries which we jokingly said it looked like fried dough fritters. I wouldn’t say this is a must-order but if you felt like there’s not enough food on the table, I guess this plate of fries will really fill you up

Iberico Tomahawk $58

Grilled Centre-Cut Pork Chop, Torched Button Mushrooms, Salsa Verde, Guajillo Chilli Mole

I thought the pork was cooked quite well but I find it too fatty for my liking. Though the flavours were good and the meat went specially well with the Guajillo Chilli Mole

Seafood Moqueca $36

Coconut Shellfish Broth, Daily Catch, Clams, Tomato Rice

This was my favourite out of all. But okay I admit I’m a seafood person. I liked the tangy broth that was sweet and flavourful yet it has a unique taste to it. The grilled prawns were excellent and I think the broth went generally well with the rice too

Coconut Tres Lesches $14

Three Milks, Vanilla Sponge, Toasted Coconut Flakes, Coconut Crema, Berries Compote

We only got one dessert to share in the form of coconut sponge cake. This was really sweet. But you can really taste the fragrance of the coconut in this dish. I probably wouldn’t order this again

Cudo is a good option to consider if you want to try a different kind of cuisine. Though the flavours can be a little impactful and diverse, but I guess once in awhile, you can stray away from the norm
