Saw this place from socials and thought the food looked interesting so the friend and I decided to have dinner there. It’s a small space run by a team of young chefs yet the place seems to be quite popular

Started with a glass of house white while waiting for the friend to arrive

Homemade Milk Bun w House Special Butter $8
One of the more popular items on their menu, the milk bun seemed to be lacking a little. I thought it could have a slight milkier taste to it and they seemed to overheat a little while heating the buns up, resulting in a drier texture

Duck Menchikatsu w Spring Onion Aioli $17
I thought the menchikatsu was not bad. I liked the flavours were well balanced and you could enjoy the duck meat in it. The katsu was deep fried nicely and it was crisp with a nice touch to it

Special – Scallop w Yuzu, Udon
We had their specials which was scallops topped with yuzu dressing on a bed of udon noodles. I thought the flavours were good and it was quite decent overall

Beef Short Ribs w Tzatziki, Gunpowder Spice $68

The beef was unfortunately a little too tough. And it was rather tiring to chew. We gave up after while

Brussel Sprouts w Whipped Brown Butter, Tomato Vinaigrette $14
Ordered a side of vegetables to go along. I thought the brussel sprouts were cooked well. It has a nice char taste to it but perhaps the sauce was a little too much. If they had just reduce the portion a little, maybe it would’t be so overwhelming
After barely finishing the mains, the friend said let’s go somewhere else for desserts and I knew the food didn’t impress her. lol
Well, personally I think there’s definitely room for improvement. And who knows, they might really surprise one day
