Back then, there was none. Now you can find Chilli Pan Mee in Singapore without the need to fly. Restoran Super Kitchen found a spot at Far East Square, catering to the needs of the CBD crowd. They serve a variety of items, and I like that it does not just restrict to Chilli Pan Mee so it caters to a wider audience
The 2-page menu
Chilli Pan Mee ‘Dry’ $7.80
Served with Fried Anchovies, Fried Shallots, Minced Meat and a Runny Yolk
I really like the noodles – springy and brunch with a silky texture. The crispy fried anchovies deserved another helping as well, though too much of it might be a little too salty. But the highlight was the dried chilli, which I underestimated and added too much
Dai Pu Mee ‘Dry’ $7.80
Gave the pork chop a try too. I thought the pork chop looked too dry, but it tasted better than it looked. The pork was tender, juicy and had a nice charred texture
Wanton Soup (small) $4.80
The dry noodles are all served with a small serving of soup cooked with potato leaves, which is similar to the wanton soup. The wanton has a nice firm crunch to it wrapped with a silky wanton skin, paired perfectly with some dried chilli
In all, the Chilli Pan Mee here is quite decent, and definitely better than the other one I tried. For those who crave a spicy bowl of noodles for lunch, here’s one in the area! And given how crowded the place is whenever I visited, I guess the crowd agrees with me too
