Had dinner at Opus Bar & Grill the other day for Christmas meetup and they were running a Festive 3 Course Menu till 30th December (except 24th and 31st). They do have their usual ala carte as well but we thought the menu selection looks pretty good so we decided to give it a try.

The place was pretty crowded with the festive season round the corner and the noise level was loud to a point we made our way to the bar for desserts instead. So if you are looking for a romantic date with conversation, it’s gonna be rather challenging

Miso Soup $20

Whisky, Sake, Miso & Lemon

Appetiser: Onion Cheese Bread

Starters: Hokkaido Scallops, Beetroot Carpaccio, Eggplant Caviar, Miso Espuma

The scallops were nicely done, sweet with a bouncy texture

Starters: Seared Foie Gras, Cranberry Compote, Duck Jus, Caramelised Baby Figs, Toasted Brioche

The other starter we picked was the seared foie gras which I thought was pretty decent too. I like how they pair it with a mini brioche toast and the baby fig was really delicious. The sauce was a little heavy in flavours, if not the dish would have been perfect

Mains: 180g Grainage Angus, 150 days Grain-fed, Rib-eye with Broccoli Almondine & Truffle Fries

All of us went for the steak over turkey and wild sea bass since they were pretty known for their grilled meat. Honestly, the steak was a little too thin but overall I thought it tasted pretty okay in terms of texture

Desserts: Charcoal Grilled Banana, Smoked Salted Caramel, Coconut & Brandy Nougat Icecream

Love the grilled banana and the icecream but we ended up so stuffed after that

The 3-course menu is priced at $78++ which we thought was pretty reasonable in terms of selection. Opus Grill also serves a range of other cuts of meat so you can pick one that you prefer. And also for those looking for good deals, they also run a series of promotions concurrently. One would be the selection of Omaha prime grade cuts +2 hours free flow wine at $68++ (Sun-Thu) and 50% off wine by the bottle (Fri-Sat). Citibank cardholders are also entitled to 15% off on ala carte items so I think it was worth checking it out
