Last weekend, the friends and I had the opportunity to attend Whisky Live 2015. The event was held at Capella Singapore, which isn’t exactly the most accessible but we were still very much excited to attend the 2-day event which see more than 90 brands of whisky, spirits and master classes. The event wasn’t crowded which is good cos you get to explore all the booths and enjoy all the whisky without feeling you won’t get a chance to. The event is divided into 3 sections – Whisky room, Spirit room and the outdoor area where the cocktail bars and food pop-ups are

The area might not seem very big, but it’s more than enough to drink for a few hours. We came to the point where we had so much all the whisky tasted the same after while. Lol

Nikka, who won best blended malt whisky

Kavalan from Taiwan

And their award winning whisky, the Solist Vinho Barrique (which I really enjoy)

The Glenrothes, known for producing vintage single malt

Highland Park
And many others

Spirit Room

My favourite, sake 🙂

Gold Flakes Sake

This is very good, light but yet not too sweet

Moving on to rum cocktails

Which was something different from all the alcohol we have been drinking all day

And the guy happily pose a photo for me

Cane-based Rum
It really felt like drinking sugar cane

The outdoor bar area where you can enjoy specially customized cocktails made from these bartenders

Monkey Tonic

And a schedule to inform you of the the restaurants line-up

No lack of food anywhere

Burnt Ends

5th Quarter

El Mero Mero

Meat Smith

Generous canapés from Capella

And if you feel like you need a break from all the drinking, you are welcomed to drop by the crafts area where you can do notebook printing and leather crafting, all with compliments

My crafts 🙂
Honestly I felt this is one event that is worth going for people who enjoy whisky. Though a one-day pass at $95 may seem expensive, but you get to enjoy all the whisky from so many different brands, spirits and all the awesome food for free. It’s the kind of event where you can enjoy just spending the weekend away at the comfort of decent food and great drinks. For those who missed it this year, grab your drinking buddies and pop by next year. It’s bound to be one event you will enjoy.
Whisky Live 2016, I hope to see you next year
