As we grow up, it’s getting more difficult to meet up with your friends since everyone is busy with their own lives. But I’m glad everyone made an effort to turn up for our annual class cny reunion and it’s comforting to know that the class is expanding each year. We had our dinner at Whampoa Keng which is renowned for their fish head steamboat.

Huat ah!
🙂
I really like their soup. It has a very strong flavour with lots of veggie, yam and the fish here is really fresh
Fu Yong Omelette
You can taste the fragrance of the egg and a slight wok hei to the eggy omelette
Prawn Paste Chicken
Sadly, I think their standard dropped
Tofu stuffed with Salted Egg
I think it’s pretty interesting for a tofu dish. But in all honesty, I think tofu and salted egg really don’t go well together. I will stick to my hot plate beancurd next time
Spare Rib King
Tender ribs that are marinated with a sweet sauce. Simple yet delicious
Baby Kai Lan stir fried with Garlic
Salted Egg Prawns
This is really really good. Huge prawns that were succulent and sweet, coated with an even salted egg paste. You can taste the delicious salted egg without being too overpowering
I think Whampoa Keng serves one delicious fish head steamboat, that is especially welcoming for a cold weather when the sweet & hot broth just fills your stomach. Their other dishes are pretty decent too and you will be happy to know the other outlet is at Balestier
