Platters is an interesting place. They serve food on boards and there is only a choice of 1/2 board or full board. Located on club street, this place isnt difficult to locate and I thought it’s quite a small and cozy bistro. They change their guest chef every 4 months so this time round we were in the hands of Chef Oscar & Tracy Pasinato of Buko Nero who will be here till end June. So I suggested this place to celebrate A’s farewell and I’m glad we chose the right place 🙂
They have a really extensive list of wine
Full board on the left and half board on the right
This Italian’s Tale (1/2 board)
Breaded chicken thigh w curry leaves & sweet chili sauce (everyone’s fav), seared smoked salmon trout (pretty normal) and mini burgers w braised beef cheeks (another fav). This was so good we ordered another full board with just chicken and burgers. haha
Sorry for the bad lighting 😦
Sailing on Italian Waters (1/2 board)
Seared jumbo Hokkaido Hotate on fresh rosemerry leaves (an interesting combination I would say), Pan fried Tiger Prawns w Parsley (v sweet & juicy prawns) and Crab & Corn Croquettes. The seafood board is pretty good. Done and seared nicely, it’s a worthy mention.
Honestly speaking, you will not be full at this place. Menu isn’t extensive and there’s more alcohol than food. I guess the emphasis is for friends to chill over a glass of wine and some good food to go along and not for you to chat over a plate of awesome chicken thighs and a glass of wine to go along. Nevertheless, this place is worth a visit if you are in the area.
Ending w a picture of ze colleagues!
