It has been a long week. I needed somewhere to unwind and this place has been on my feed for the longest time ever so I thought I would go check it out. I was intrigued by the large number of sakes available so I was really excited

They recommend some sakes based on the flavour profiles I wanted so we started with these 2

The one on the left was a Junmai Daiginjo, rice polishing 45% while the one on the right was made with rose yeast, rice polishing 55%. However the DGJ had a strong rice aftertaste which I didn’t really enjoy it. The GJ had a more balanced taste with a slight fragrance to it

Ehire $12
I was glad I had some food to go along and I must say the ehire was really good. It had the nice char taste, good texture and not overdone

Asari Saka Mushi $16
The Asari was decent too though I don’t think it particularly went well with the sake

Bonjiri $7

Momo $6

Tsukimi Tsukune $8
I had to say the skewers were really good. I totally recommend them, especially the bonjiri and momo

Went with some warm sake to go with the mapo tofu

Wagyu Mapo Tofu $20
which felt like a good dish to have if you are feeling tipsy. It had quite a good kick to it and I liked that it really warmed the stomach and the beef was really tender

Whisky Highball
Though I wasn’t impressed by the sake, they made pretty good whisky highball

Moving on to umeshu to pair with desserts. I asked for something strong. It was strong but there was a bitter aftertaste to it as well

Yaki Mochi $8
Grilled mochi for those who looking for something light. It was chewy and the red beans provided some sweetness to round off the meal

Mini Parfait $18
But I felt like it wasn’t enough so I ordered a mini parfait as well. I was glad I did. Ha

Also went for a sweeter umeshu as well, which I definitely liked this better

Well, this was an unexpected experience. I went for the drinks but surprisingly liked the food better. But given there was still quite a good crowd and regulars there, I guessed they must have enjoyed something in their drinks which I didn’t and afterall, it’s just personal preference. So for those who are in the area, you can still check them out
