Went down to Orchard plaza to try this newly found izakaya that served Japanese-Vietnamese fusion cuisine. If you find the boss familiar, she used to work at Kakiin Oyster Bar and decided to venture on her own. Izakaya that served Japanese cuisine are plenty but one that incorporates Vietnamese influences in their food are not so common so I was looking forward to what they bring to the table

We went for the 5.30pm seating and were the only customers for that evening

Hyogo Murotsu Oyster $9 each
Seasonal Konagai Oyster $13 each
I preferred the seasonal oysters that were creamier in taste as I felt the Hyogo Murotsu Oysters were abit lacking and I didn’t think it goes very well with the sauce

Homemade Sauce – Fish Sauce, Tartar, Red Chilli, Green Chilli
I really like the homemade sauce and I felt like the red chilli and green chilli went well with most of the dishes

Wagyu Beef Lúc Lắc $25
Wrapped with tender beef, the lúc lắc was fragrant and flavourful. You could taste the herbs and the sweetness of the beef, topped with the crunch of the peanuts

Garlic Butter Prawn $19
A little on the heavier side, the prawns were succulent and well-cooked

Chicken Gizzard $10
I really liked the chicken gizzard and I thought it went really well with the alcohol

Chicken Tail $9
The chicken tail was crisp and well fried too

Fried Lollipop Chicken $16
I thought the lollipop chicken was decent but not necessarily a must-order. Though fried chicken and alcohol always go very well together

Chilli Chicken Thigh $17
We were enticed by the next table’s order so we ordered a portion as well. I thought the flavour was good but I found a chicken a tad too dry for my liking
Crab Claypot Broken Rice $39

The crab claypot rice was really good. And I liked it better with the crab broth that was so deep in flavour. You could the sweetness of the seafood and the punch that it gave was really satisfying

Homemade Pickles $9
Some homemade pickles to go along which was really nice as well

Seasonal Ohmine 3 Grain Sake
Also this sake was super easy to drink. Would recommend you to give this a try
I enjoyed this place for its casual and friendly vibes and I thought the food was overall quite decent. For something different than your usual izakaya, I thought it’s worth a try and I would definitely return in the future
