I didn’t know 5 months later, is still my birthday. But since the friend wanted to make up for it, we decided to check out Estiatorio Milos at MBS. The place was stemming with people and there were actually people dining at 9pm. So thankfully we made reservations in advance. This Greek restaurant is known for its seafood market and the whole joy was actually choosing your seafood from the ‘market’ itself. It was actually quite a fun experience

We started off with some complimentary bread

with Fresh Oregano

We were so amused they brought the pot out. But honestly, we did’t find much value add to it. And we cannot understand why they need to use such a big plate for it. It’s just olive oil!

MILOS SPECIAL $45

Lightly fried zucchini and eggplant tower, saganaki cheese and tzatziki

We had the Milos special and I would recommend anyone to order this. I love how lightly fried the zucchini tasted and it’s almost like chips. Pair it alongside some cheese and there was a nice touch of saltiness and savouriness to it. But these chips-like texture cannot be left alone for too long as they get soggy after while

TOMATO SALAD $44

The authentic salad prepared with vine-ripened tomatoes

We were contemplating for very long if we should get this salad. Well, it tasted like salad. lol. It’s very fresh I would say. A fresh plate of tomato salad

OCTOPUS $48

Sashimi-grade Mediterranean octopus, charcoal-broiled

The octopus were cooked well and tender to taste. I liked it has a nice char to it and the flavours worked nicely as well

So yes, we got to pick our fish at the start of service

and this was our Grilled Fish of the evening

I really liked the fish. I finished my portion but the friend was struggling to finish hers. lol

Greek Yoghurt Icecream $28

Topped w Caramel Walnuts and Thyme-honey

This Greek yoghurt ice cream was a nice end to the meal. I liked how balanced it was with the sourness of the yoghurt and the sweetness of the honey and walnuts. It was actually very good. If you are feeling too full from dinner, this ice cream would be the best option

I say the food here is actually very decent and in generous portion. The only thing we didn’t like were the plates were too big for the small table (especially if you are dining in a pair). We asked if they had smaller plates and they said no. So it felt like you need to finish your food quickly so that they could continue serving your food. Else, it’s definitely a place to consider if you would like some Greek cuisine
