Bottega di Carna – Elegant Italian Fare with Decent Steak

Had a birthday lunch celebration at Bottega di Carna cos the friend wanted to try it. Located at Mondrian Singapore Duxton, we took some time to find the place cos nobody realised it was inside the hotel.

There was only one restaurant located on level 3. So you will find it quite easily once you step out of the lift. I thought the place was quite nice. I liked how the sunlight comes through the restaurant and the tables were spaced apart for privacy. It felt like this could be the place to go to if you need somewhere quiet or wanna impress a date

Sgroppino Colada $24

Prosecco, House Liimoncello Lemon Sorbet, Coconut Sorbet

I started with a cocktail while I waited for the rest of the troop to arrive. This was a refreshing cocktail, especially so if you need to cool down from the hot weather

Prosciutto di San Daniele $18

We started with some ham cos we were hungry. We liked the texture of the prosciutto and even more so cos it wasn’t overly salty. Like I felt the saltiness was just right

Zucchini Noodles $18
Basil Pesto, Pangrattato, Parmigiana

The non-veggie friend suggested this. We were all surprised. So we indulged her and gave this a try. Unfortunately she didn’t like it. Lol. The zucchini noodles were interesting. Sliced thinly like noodles, yet they were crunchy-like texture. And the basil based sauce had a tint of mint in it

We were served some warm bread, and everyone loved it. It was warm and soft and we were seriously considering asking for second portions

King Prawns $68
Garlic Aioli & Charred Lemon

We liked the prawns. They had a fragrant charred taste to it and were grilled nicely

Risotto $44
Crustacean & Seared Fish

We were a little apprehensive of the risotto and when I tried it, I had a complicated look on my face. To sum it up in one phrase, I would call this more mui fan-like than risotto-like. Lol

Bottega Cheeseburger $32
Tomato, Pickled Cucumber, White Cheddar

The cheeseburger was surprisingly tasty and we liked how well-cooked and flavoured it was. And the fries were addictive too

Linguine $68
Spicy Lobster, Confit Cherry Potatoes

The linguine was decent, and so was the lobster that was sweet and succulent. But I didn’t think it stand out particularly

Australian Butcher Steak $108 (350g)

We really liked the steak. And the friend asked if this was better than Burnt Ends? We laughed. Let’s just say this steak was done pretty nicely

Parmesan Fries & Aioli $18

And cos nobody says no to fries. The kiddo couldn’t stop eating too, until the mum had to take it away from him. Lol. So I happily finished the remaining for him 🙂

Birthday Tiramisu – complimentary

Butterscotch Budino $18
Caramel, Sesame Brittle

Valrhona Chocolate Fondant $22
Cocoa Nib Tuile, Homemade Vanilla Icecream

We finished the meal with some desserts which I thought their desserts were generally pretty good. We liked both the Budino and Fondant and thought the tiramisu had a good balance of coffee and alcohol which was a satisfying end to the meal

Personally, if you are looking for somewhere quiet with okay food, this can be an option to consider. Generally I don’t think there was anything that really stood out and I would probably need to think very long if someone were to ask me what did I eat here? But there was nothing bad about the food either. So I’m sitting on the fence for this place
