I was trying to find a different kind of Sunday brunch when I chanced upon Strut & Cluck at at Shoreditch. This lovely restaurant serves Middle Eastern-inspired cooking, and also turkey focused dishes so I was excited to see what kind of brunch offerings they had. The interior gave a very homely feeling, bright, classy and welcoming. It felt like the perfect place to spend your Sunday
Prosecco £6
Shakshuka £9.50
Eggs Cooked in a Pan with Tomatoes, Peppers, Onions, Chilli, served with Pita
You find this on the menu often but I think what mades this dish so special was the pita bread that came with it
It was so freaking good. Period
Pita Paradise £9.50
Topped with Mascarpone, Honey, Pistachio, Cashews, Seasonal Fruit
Tried the sweet version of the pita as well. We like the assortment of condiments on it that gave a nicely roasted fragrance
Sunday Roast: Charcoaled Turkey Thigh £14.75
Served with Rosemary & Garlic Potatoes, Caramelised Red Onions, Honey & Cumin Heritage Carrots, Chargrilled Stem Broccoli, Yorkshire Pudding, House Gravy & Horseradish
I thought their Sunday Roast stood out for all reasons. Everything from the turkey to the potatoes was perfect
Levant Rosewater Pudding with Raspberry Treacle, Crushed Pistachios £5.50
We were so stuffed we decided to just stick with one dessert. This was pretty special, yet different as well. It reminded me of panna cotta with its smooth silky texture and the slight sweetness of the rosewater rounded the overall taste well
I’ll recommend this place anytime. It reminded me of Artichoke in Singapore, but this place has its hits in many area. Do drop by if you are in Shoreditch area and looking for a different kind of variety
