There is a new cafe in the neighbourhood. Foxhole Cafe, an extension of The Pourover Bar is located at Hougang Midtown or otherwise previously known as Hougang Plaza. The place is still pretty empty with some spaces still up for lease. Decided to go down for brunch one day to see what this space got to offer

Fresh Bakes are what you see once you enter. Menu can be pretty limited with mainly croissants as their selection

What I like about the space is how the room is filled up with natural sunlight. It makes it very cozy and the pictures look good

And an enormous unicorn mural with galaxy colours that deserves a photo on its own

Fruit Juice: Acai, Cranberry & Pomegranate $6.90

It’s a simple combination of acai, cranberry and pomegranate but I like the balance of sweetness and acidity here. A refreshing cup to start the day!

Flat White $4.90

The coffee tasted nutty and has a nice aroma. Overall smooth in taste and finished with a slight acidity. But I wished the temperature of the coffee could be slightly warmer

The Ugly Chocolate Cake $6.50

The cake was pretty decent but it could just been a little more moist. Just a little more

Croissant Black Pepper Smoked Salmon with Raspberry Chips $13.90

I like the gigantic slices of smoked salmon with a balance of sweetness and peppery taste. It took me some time to get used to the chips cos initially I was wondering why do the chips tasted so weird

Signature Croissant Chilli Crab Meat with Raspberry Chips $14.90

A good choice for people who enjoy spiciness in their food. The chilli crab meat filling was tasty with generous amount of eggs and meat finished with a tangy and spicy chilli crab sauce. The croissants were crisp and buttery

This place makes a good place to chill, and hide myself for some me-time. I wouldn’t mind going back just cos it’s so near, for their coffee, bakes and croissants (and no service charge!). But I do hope they can extend the menu in time to come. And also, how about more cafes at Hougang Midtown? 😀
