294. The local fare

Revisited Drips Bakery on a random occasion and glad it wasn’t as crowded as the first time I went. So we had 2 tarts to share and a pot of Apple-infused tea which we love it very much. It felt like we were drinking Pokka Apple Tea but the hot version of it.

Strawberry fruit tart

Lemon Meringue Tart

The meringue can be a little over dosed after awhile. Too much sweetness in a tart.

Somehow I felt the tarts this time round fare better. Or maybe we happen to choose the right ones 🙂

I realise I don’t post photos of our local food often so here’s some pictures to tempt you guys out there. I love what you can find in our hawker here. It’s cheap, good and often the most sinful as well. haha but nah, calories come another time. The friends brought a visiting guest from Belgium and decided to bring him to Chomp Chomp for a good ol hawker fare so here’s the spread!

BBQ Stingray

BBQ just right and with lots of samba chilli. It’s probably cool if you take spice, you will fall in love with this dish

Popiah

Thinly wrapped rice paper with lots of veg inside. Never a fan of this. ha

BBQ Chicken Wings

This is so awesome!

Rojak

We told him this was Asian salad. hahaha which is true, in a way

Fried Carrot Cake

Fried Hokkien Mee

The famous 45 min wait hokkien mee. Still taste as awesome!

Love chomp chomp, and it will always end with ice-cream at Udders. It’s strange how when you are overseas for a long while, you will just miss the local food here. I guess this is where you call home 🙂
