Having new found freedom, the friend and I went for lunch at the newly opened Gyu San Charcoal Bar located at Forum. Have never visited their Tanjong Pagar outlet to be honest but somehow this outlet seemed more attractive. lol. It wasn’t very crowded but reservations are still recommended

I was given a choice to sit at the counter or the low tables and we went for the high seats cos I preferred to watch the chef in action and you know, if you don’t want to talk to your company, you can just focus on the action unfolding before you. lol

They have various condiments for you to choose from. But the friend and I concluded everything was strange to go with the meat. Sambal, chimichurri, lemon, garlic. It was just strange. The meat would taste the best on its own, without any add ons

But oh, the kimchi was nice. We had lots of it

Yuzu Highball $15

The yuzu highball was a little underwhelming. It felt more soda-y

Wagyu Chips $8.80

I was attracted by the wagyu chips. Thin cut chips fried in wagyu fats. They were very. addictive.

Mille Fuille Sando $32

The friend picked the mille fuille sando to share. The set comes with salad and chips. I have to say the sando was pretty decent. Buttery toast with flavourful and nicely grilled meat. The meat was just done right and the texture was a little more pillowy and soft, compared to how steak sando would taste. If you want something more affordable, you could give this a try

Hamburg Set $23.80

Comes with miso soup, salad and free flow rice

The meat looked small, but I thought it was a rather decent portion You probably need to add in some sides to go along. I thought the quality of the Hamburg was fair enough. And the cook on the meat was just right. It was actually quite delicious

I thought Gyu San makes a good option for sando and steak if you are looking to dine in the Orchard area. Though a little further away from the main shopping area but if happen to be in the area, you could give this a try
