Hello Arigato Tiong Bahru – Chilling with Yuzu Kosho Wings on a Lazy Weekend

Met the friends for brunch and we decided to check out Hello Arigato. They have so many branches now and with each place having their own exclusive items as well. So we went to the Tiong Bahru branch just so it’s closer to city area which we had to proceed next. The place wasn’t crowded which was surprising cos Tiong Bahru was just bursting with activity on a weekend, and with CNY period round the corner, many were just shopping for CNY prep. We did make a reservation though, just to err on the side of caution

The place wasn’t big but I think it really made such a nice place to people-watch with the natural sunlight coming into the cafe and cos we were seated near the window, we were constantly looking outside to friendly dogs (there were so many!) and foreigners just getting on their weekend grocery. It was such a chillax weekend morning I would say

Mocha

I started with a cup of mocha, which I haven’t had coffee for a long time. I thought the mocha was decent. It had a nice balance and it warmed my stomach

Flat White

The friend went with a cup of flat white which she said she failed them cos it was a little sour. Well, I was glad I went with mocha, Ha

Arigato Truffle Fries $10

Truffle, Parmigiano Reggiano, Truffle Mayo

The truffle fries were a little overfried in my opinion but the friends seem to love them. Alright, as long as one person in the group was enjoying it, I guess that’s a good sign

Hae Bee Hiam Pasta $20

Tiger Prawn, Homemade Hae Bee Hiam w Dark Caramel, Sakura Ebi, Linguine, Negi Oil, Scallions

The pasta was good. I thought it was cooked well and the hae bee hiam infused nicely in without being too overpowering

Yuzu Kosho Wings $12

Crispy Fried Chicken Wings, Homemade Honey Yuzu Kosho Glaze, Togarashi

I really liked the wings. And cos you don’t come across yuzu kosho wings often. I thought the combination worked really well and execution was on point

Yuzu Honey Chicken Sando $16

Yuzu Honey Mustard, Crispy Chicken Thigh, Baby Romaine, Sesame Seed, Kewpie Mayo, Shokupan Bread

They are known for their sandos and this was something different. I thought the sando was alright but I would probably give other flavors a try

It made a nice cafe to chill, if you are in the area. But to go down specifically for it might need some effort cos parking is really bad there. There were hits and misses, but their service made up for it. So if you are looking for an angmoh kind of cafe to chill in Tiong Bahru, you can add this to your list
