Met up a friend for brunch and decided to hunt down one of the older brunch places. I thought of Dough at CHIJMES which I’ve visited once for their pastries and decided to pay them another visit for their mains this time round over the weekend. The friend came later and lamented about the little parking space they had so for those who are driving, point to note to park at Raffles City Shopping Centre
We were just in time for their pop-up with Grandmother Coffee Roastery, all the way from Dubai so they were using their beans for their espresso based and filter drinks
Dining time is capped at 1 hour here as it proved to be a really popular place
Pastries are self-service. Grab a tray and make payment at the cashier
White 5 oz
Gersay Natural $8
Ethiopia Yirgocheffe Gersay Grade 1
The friend really liked the filter coffee as it’s smooth on the palate
Pulled Pork Quesadilla $26
House Marinated Pulled Pork, Roasted Corn Salsa, Mozzarella & Cheddar Cheese, Tortilla Wrap, Mixed Greens
These pulled pork quesadilla won our hearts. Love the savoury tender pulled pork wrapped in a thin tortilla wrap. They were really delicious
Rosti & Shrooms $27
House Rosti, Scrambled Eggs, Creamy Shrooms, Black Garlic, Mixed Greens
What’s breakfast without eggs? So we had the rosti & scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs were nicely done, a little on the watery side. I enjoyed the texture of the rosti. The strips of potato were thinly sliced and pan-fried to perfection. Though I wished they had a little more flavour to them. But the friend thought the rosti were good like that
I thought the food was pretty decent, and my heart goes out to the quesadilla. There were actually more people having their pastries. Well, if you had stomach space, you should give them a try too. The only downside was dining time is a little short so it might not be the best place to hang around and catch up with friends
